Notas de "The Wine Advocate"

On the other hand, the opaque purple-colored 2013 Angelus, a brilliant blend of equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc harvested between September 9 and October 3 (only 60% of the production was utilized), possesses good acidity as well as pure blueberry, mulberry and black currant fruit intermixed with notions of licorice, Christmas fruitcake, underbrush and forest floor. With medium body and more texture than is found in most 2013s, it should drink well for 8-10 years. This vineyard is meticulously manicured and the wine is brilliantly made by Hubert de Bouard.

Notas: Château Angelus: A typical Saint-Emilion… Château Angelus is the story of the passionate involvement of the last four generations of the Boüard de Laforest’s family. The vineyards of Angelus are located closed to the famous village of Saint Emilion, next to the renowned south facing "pied de côte" site. The name of Angelus derives from a particularly ancient plot of vineyard, from which the men tending the vines were able to hear the angelus ringing out from all three angelus of the village churches, chapelle de Mazerat, the church of Saint Martin and and the church of Saint-Emilion. There, in the vineyards and in the wine processing areas, respect of traditional methods goes hand in hand with ongoing technical advancements so that each harvest, each vintage achieves its peak of perfection. That is why under the direction of Hubert de Boüard since the mid 1980’s, Angelus has created its reputation of producing one of the very foremost wines in its appellation. Elevated to Premier Grand Cru status in 1996, Angelus is clearly a château to seek out in all vintages. Located next to the town of Saint-Emilion and closed to the famous Ausone, Belair and Beauséjour, Angelus is made with Merlot (60%) and Cabernet Franc, (40%) A Famous Wine, with an undeniable constancy
