It seems like the sandy soils from the vineyards used for the village red 2020 Valtuille Vino de Villa were quite good at absorbing the extra heat from the year; the wine feels quite harmonious and kept the moderate alcohol level of the 2019. This wine has more abundant but fine-grained tannins, and the 2020 vintage is more powerful—the wines are going to need a little more time in bottle. It's mostly from the same vineyards as in 2019, with slightly shorter macerations, but the wines show more structure anyway. 4,300 bottles produced.
